Riot Games created a new virtual influencer called Seraphine | Music Ally

Last month we reported on Riot Games, the publisher of esports game League of Legends, launching a new track for its virtual pop group K/DA.

What we hadn’t spotted, then, was a cover of the group’s past hit ‘Pop/Stars’ by an influencer called Seraphine, which was released a couple of weeks ago.

Twist one: Seraphine isn’t human, she’s an entirely virtual influencer – a computer-generated character. Twist two: she was created by… Riot Games!

“Seraphine is a digital influencer and artist in association with Riot Games. As a virtual artist, she will have many collaborators that help bring her to life musically, vocally, and artistically,” the company explained to The Verge.

“As of June 2020, she operates three social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, and Soundcloud) where she shares her music, thoughts on her daily life, and now, her collaboration with K/DA.”

Seraphine already has 236.1k followers on Twitter and 286k on Instagram, although only 17.4k on SoundCloud.
