Deezer adds ‘Country Selector’ and standalone audiobooks app | Music Ally

Deezer has been busy adding new features this year, and a couple more have come this week. One is ‘Country Selector‘, a toggle for users to switch their music and podcast content to another country of their choice.

It’s partly about expats being able to switch the service to recommend music and shows from the country they’re from rather than the one they’re living in, but Deezer is also suggesting it may be interesting for people “curious about life on the other side of the ocean”.

Meanwhile, Deezer’s push into audiobooks continues – one area where it’s slightly ahead of some of its bigger rivals. The company has launched a standalone ‘Audiobooks by Deezer‘ app in Germany, which is the first country it offered this content through its main service.

Indeed, Deezer says that 19% of its monthly active users in Germany are listening to audiobooks already. The new app works for Deezer’s subscribers but not its free listeners.
