The Rolling Stones to open shop on London’s Carnaby Street | Music Ally

Soho’s swinging Carnaby Street (copyright: the 1960s) is getting a new boutique retailer from 9 September: RS No. 9 Carnaby. Otherwise known as a ‘world-first flagship store’ for The Rolling Stones.

As part of their wide-ranging new deal signed with Universal Music Group in 2018, the band have worked with UMG’s Bravado subsidiary on the new store, which will sell clothing, a range of glassware and furniture among other items.

Fans can expect liberal splashings of the official ‘Stones Red’ Pantone colour – there’ll be a collection of merchandise focused on that too, launching with the store – with a soundtrack of new and (remastered) old tracks.

Meanwhile, for fans still nervous of actually going inside shops during the Covid-19 pandemic, there’ll be a “world first soundwave installation” in the window of the store, taken from the opening to 1966 single ‘Paint It Black’.
