YouTube’s latest originals include a GRM Daily documentary | Music Ally

YouTube has revealed its latest slate of ‘originals’ – documentaries commissioned by the video service – for the UK this autumn. They include a four-part series about GRM Daily, the Black British music channel. ‘Together We Rise: The Uncompromised Story of GRM Daily’ will debut on 28 September, with interviewees including Skepta, Giggs, Stormzy, Julie Adenuga, Kano, Ms Banks, Zane Lowe and Dizzee Rascal among others.

“When we were approached with this idea over a year ago, we recognized the merit of it as a brilliant story of Black entrepreneurial excellence that begins on YouTube,” Luke Hyams, head of YouTube Originals EMEA, told Variety. Warner Music Group’s film and TV division Warner Music Entertainment is producing the series.

Meanwhile, this autumn will also see a feature-length documentary ‘How To Be: Anne-Marie’, focusing on the British artist’s response to lockdown and new music. Another ‘How To Be’ doc outside music will focus on gaming YouTuber Behzinga.
