Startup Mixo launches public beta of its cloud DJ library | Music Ally

Mixo describes itself as “the smart library” for professional DJs and has just launched in beta. It lets users sync their libraries and mixes across all the connected devices they use, including moving music between a range of performance software including Traktor, Rekordbox, Serato and Virtual DJ.

The pitch to DJs is that it makes their libraries accessible anywhere, while also ensuring they’re safely backed up. There’s a Mixo mobile app for iPhone and Android to manage playlists, tracks and cuepoints on the go, then a Mixo desktop app Mac, Windows and Linux.

The model is freemium: Mixo:Desktop is free, but a subscription tier (Mixo:Gold) costs $7 a month, and will sync a DJ’s library across all their devices. They’ll also need to supply their own cloud storage.
