Vevo strikes distribution deal with Australian telco Telstra | Music Business Worldwide

Vevo has inked a distribution deal with Australian telco, Telstra.

The tie-up will see users of Telstra’s streaming service, Telstra TV, given access to Vevo’s catalog of 450,000 videos.

Today’s news follows Vevo’s expansion into Australia and New Zealand earlier this year with the opening of a new sales office in Sydney in February.

The music video platform also hired ex Shazam exec Steve Sos to lead the company’s operation in the market.

Vevo claimed in February to have approximately 10 million monthly unique viewers in Australia and 2.2m in New Zealand.

“Being able to tap into Telstra’s impressive reach and distribution is another step towards our goal of bringing music videos back to the living room.”
