It’s a busy week for music documentaries on YouTube, with two launching yesterday. ‘Together We Rise: The Uncompromised Story of GRM Daily’ is a four-part documentary based on the British music brand and its founder Posty, produced by Warner Music Entertainment.
The first episode went live yesterday, with the rest to follow on 1, 5 and 8 October – all on GRM Daily’s YouTube channel, which has 3.3 million subscribers.
Also premiering yesterday was ‘Chasing the Sound: Major Lazer‘, a half-hour special following Major Lazer to Ghana and Nigeria to collaborate with Afrobeats artists including Mr Eazi, Efya, Teni, Sarkodie and Amaarae.
This show is also being hosted on the artist’s channel – Major Lazer have 13.6 million subscribers – with both documentaries sitting within the YouTube Originals strand.
Meanwhile, in non-YouTube music documentary news, the ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ doc will premiere in February on Apple TV+, as well as in cinemas.
