David Guetta to perform in Sensorium Galaxy VR platform | Music Ally

In August we reported on a partnership between streaming service Tidal and virtual reality startup Sensorium Corporation, including plans for concerts within the latter’s Sensorium Galaxy platform when it launches next year.

Now it’s signed up a big artist: David Guetta. He’ll work with Sensorium to create a virtual Dave, who will be starring in his own series of performances in the world.

“VR lets us create a new form of art. It’s a next-level experience that goes way beyond just watching a DJ show on a screen,” promised Guetta.

Sensorium Galaxy is a platform that will host various virtual worlds, and the one Guetta will be performing in is called Prism, which will be focused on music. Guetta is the first DJ to sign up, with the world’s shows set to stream for viewers using VR headsets, but also those watching on computers and smartphones.

There’s money here too – Sensorium has raised more than $100m in funding for the Galaxy project – so we’d expect to see more big names enlisted in the run-up to launch sometime in the first half of 2021.
