Marc Rebillet earned $523k from drive-in concert tour | Music Ally

In May, we reported on artist Marc Rebillet’s plans for a series of concerts at drive-in cinemas across the US. The jaunt went well.

According to Billboard, the 12 gigs collectively grossed $523k, with all but one of them selling out. And this from an average audience of just 1,011 fans. As the report notes, that’s 90% more than the average attendance for his previous (non-drive-in) tour in 2019.

Usually, Rebillet would charge around $20 per ticket, but was able to charge $40-$50 on the drive-in tour, partly due to being one of the few options for people to see live music in the flesh in June. Outdoor cinemas have also been used by other artists during the Covid-19 lockdown. Garth Brooks played a concert on 27 June which was broadcast (with timezone-suitable delays) to more than 350,000 fans across North America.
