Distributor TuneCore launches in India | Music Ally

TuneCore is the latest global music company to open an office in India, with the aim of helping independent Indian artists to distribute their music not just locally, but to the big digital services around the world.

At launch, it’s distributing to the usual global services as well as to Indian streaming service JioSaavn, but Gaana, Hungama and Wynk are listed as ‘coming soon’.

The company has appointed Heena Kriplani as its country manager for India, having joined the company earlier this year after more than 12 years working for Gibson Brands in the region.

TuneCore is also launching with an introductory offer for Indian artists, knocking 50% off its regular distribution costs for singles and albums – they’ll cost ₹499 and ₹1499 respectively during the offer, which is around $6.66 and $20 respectively.
