Grid app aims to help events return with social distancing | Music Ally

Concerts are returning in some countries as Covid-19 lockdown measures ease, but with a variety of social distancing measures.

Grid is a new app that’s positioning itself as helping: not just music concerts, but other kinds of hospitality and events businesses too. The app can be used for mobile ticketing and checking in to events; to order and pay for drinks and snacks that will then be brought to people’s tables or seats; and so on.

“Safety and hygiene are of the utmost importance these days. Imagine a world in which you could check-in using your phone, where you don’t have to stand in line beside other guests, where all ordering is done contactless online, and all payments are exchanged digitally,” said Grid’s Valentin Yeo in a statement. The app has already been used by the Kiesgrube open-air club in Duisburg, Germany, for its ‘Stay Wild Moonchild’ socially-distanced club night (a short promo video for which is here).
