Bandcamp’s latest rev-share waiving day has special releases | Music Ally

Today is the third in Bandcamp’s series of days where it waives its revenue share for music and merchandise sold by artists on its site.

As before, a number of labels are also waiving their own revenue share, to ensure musicians get 100% of the sales. Also as before, many artists and labels are launching special releases today: new compilations or EPs, rarities, new t-shirt designs and so on. Bandcamp has published a list here.

One thing that’s new for this week’s day: many of the participating artists and labels are choosing to donate their share of sales or profits to organisations supporting racial justice and change. National Bail Fund Network, Black Visions Collective, Reclaim the Block, Black Lives Matter, Stand Against Racism and a host of other organisations stand to benefit – and that’s ahead of Bandcamp’s own 19 June event, where it will donate 100% of its revenue share to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
