SiriusXM to launch artist channels for Bowie, Eagles and more | Music Ally

US satellite-radio firm SiriusXM is launching a bunch of authorised artist channels on its service on 1 May. It’s a raft of big catalogue artists: David Bowie, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, George Strait, Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Prince and The Rolling Stones.

Produced with the artists’ teams / estates, the channels will broadcast a mixture of hits, rare tracks and interviews, while the Prince channel includes a demo the late artist recorded for Sirius back in 2005 as a potential radio channel.

To give the new channels the maximum possible audience, SiriusXM – a paid service, remember – is extending its ‘Stream Free’ promotion until the end of May. That means people will be able to stream its premium stations for free through the SiriusXM app, without needing to sign up for a subscription.
