Global distribution, label services, and rights management company ONErpm has partnered with Barcelona-based Independent Management Entity (IME) organization Unison for pan-European and pan-African collection of publishing copyrights.
ONErpm’s publishing and rights management department was created in 2019 and, in just a year, has developed a catalog of more than 40,000 musical works and more than 2,000 composers including leading writers such as Kevin De Oliveira Zanoni (MC Kevin o Chris), Geizon Carlos Da Cruz Fernandes or Aldo Roberto Rodriguez Baquero (AL2).
Unison launched at the beginning of 2020 and represents the management of more than 600,000 works for international clients – including cuts on hits recorded by the likes of Mariah Carey, BeyoncĂ©, Eminem, Run DMC, Janis Joplin and Tupac.
As well as collecting royalties in Spain for these songs, Unison also recently became the first European IME with the power to directly grant multi-territorial digital licenses in the EU.
Unison offers global copyrights management to its clients, with direct multi-territorial deals with digital streaming platforms and partnership with organisations on the ground country-by-country.
Outside of Europe, to date Unison has inked more than 20 partnerships with PROs in markets such as Brazil (via ABRAMUS), Canada (via SOCAN), Nigeria (via COSON) and South Africa (via CAPASSO and SAMRO).
These agreements enable Unison, in tandem with its partners, to manage the collection of royalties for both online and offline uses of its catalog in these territories.
“It is extremely exciting for us to start working with ONErpm to support their mission to improve copyrights collections in Europe and Africa for their clients.”
