BMG and TV production company Fremantle extend global partnership | Music Business Worldwide

BMG and TV production and distribution company Fremantle have extended their global partnership.

Fremantle is owned by RTL Group, which is 76% owned by BMG parent Bertelsmann.

The extended deal includes a global music publishing and administration agreement for Fremantle’s catalog, as well as an agreement with BMG’s production music business which, in addition, has been expanded to a now global partnership.

Additionally, Fremantle will continue to benefit from BMG’s royalty portal, myBMG.

Fremantle’s catalog of more than 15,000 owned and co-published music copyrights, includes music featured in shows such as American Gods, The Price Is Right, Family Feud, The Apprentice, Take Me Out, Grand Designs, Neighbours, and Wentworth.

BMG is the exclusive music partner to Fremantle’s long-running Australian soap Neighbours (pictured) under which BMG provides repertoire from both its publishing and recordings rosters within the show.

In addition, BMG also administers Fremantle’s German subsidiary UFA’s music publishing catalog as part of a separate agreement.

Fremantle reports to have to grown its music publishing revenue by 12% since 2017.
