The Streets set for August pay-per-view livestream concert | Music Ally

The Streets are the latest artist to explore ticketed livestreams, with plans for a pay-per-view concert on 6 August filmed at the Earth venue in London.

It’s part of the band’s series of drive-in concerts across the UK, planned to replace the string of festival dates which were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The livestream tickets will cost £10 in a presale and then £15 when they go on general sale, with additional album and merch bundles, and the option to donate to charity Show Racism the Red Card.

What’s also interesting about this gig is the role of Universal Music Group, with its Eagle Rock Entertainment, Globe Productions and Island Records subsidiaries all involved.

“Advances in technology, and of course the desire of our artists to continue to play special livestream shows direct into their fans homes during lockdown, have opened up a lot more opportunities for ticketed livestreams once again,” said Island’s director of streaming and commerce Alastair Smith.
