Independent firms Mom + Pop and Indie-Pop reveal expansions | Music Ally

Even amid a global pandemic, there are still lots of opportunities for independent music companies to expand into new areas. Two of them announced their latest ventures yesterday.

US label Mom + Pop Music is launching a joint venture with fledgling radio promotions and artist development company Further, with the intention of helping more of the independent tracks that find success on streaming services to break on radio too. The two companies have already been working on campaigns together, reported Variety: for example for Mom + Pop signing Ashe.

Meanwhile, US management company Indie-Pop is getting into the distribution game with its new spin-off, called Independent. It’ll provide the now-familiar gamut of services: distribution for independent artists complemented by playlist pitching, data, marketing services and financing.
