ByteDance-owned short-form video app TikTok has agreed a licensing deal with The Prince Estate for the legendary artist’s full discography.

Announced on Friday (June 26), the official Prince TikTok account @Prince.4.ever is owned and operated by the late artist’s estate, which plans to post archival footage of Prince performances, interviews, and video excerpts from his career.

“The new account will emphasize Prince’s lifelong activism and fierce devotion to societal equality,” according to a release.

In addition, yesterday (June 29) at 12pm PT,  TikTok hosted a “Sound-Off” livestream tour of Prince’s home and studio, Paisley Park, located just outside of Minneapolis.

“Guided by Paisley Park’s legacy preservationist Mitch Maguire, the Sound-Off offers an inside look at Prince’s lifestyle and creative process to fans across the globe,” stated TikTok.

“The addition of the Artist’s catalog to our Sounds library will inspire our users to connect with his music in creative and unexpected ways – his catalog is so deep, and many are approaching his songs with fresh ears.”
