Apple Music’s new personalised playlist is Get Up! Mix | Music Ally

Although Apple Music has made human curation a big part of its brand (especially when execs are throwing shade at Spotify in interviews) that hasn’t stopped it from developing its own series of algo-personalised playlists. Now Favourites Mix, Chill Mix and Friends Mix have a new team member: ‘Get Up! Mix‘. Like the others it’ll be updated once a week with “happy-making, smile-finding, sing-alonging music”

Based on the selection for Music Ally’s editor this morning (Taylor Swift, Sampa the Great, Pom Poko, Super Furry Animals, Britney Spears and ‘Love Machine’ by Girls Aloud) it’ll do nicely. Subscribers will find it in Apple Music’s ‘For You’ page.

In other Apple Music news, the service’s Beats 1 DJs may be holed up in their homes, but the shows go on. “Beginning today, Apple Music hosts will record their shows with field equipment from their homes, working virtually via FaceTime on iPhone,” announced the company yesterday. Yes, expect plenty of mentions of Apple’s FaceTime tech: for example, Zane Lowe will be using it to interview Elton John, Miley Cyrus and Lil Nas X.
