Cara Donatto named EVP, Head of Media Strategy and Communications for Interscope | Music Business Worldwide

Interscope has appointed music industry veteran Cara Donatto (pictured) as Executive Vice President, Head of Media Strategy and Communications for Interscope Geffen A&M Records.

Donatto’s appointment follows the departure of Interscope’s former Executive Vice President and Head of Publicity Dennis Dennehy, who joined AEG Presents in May.

In her new role, Donatto will oversee communications strategy and execution for Interscope Geffen A&M and its associated labels, overseeing the publicity team and the company’s diverse roster of artists.

She will report to IGA Chairman and CEO, John Janick and Vice Chairman, Steve Berman.

Donatto most recently served as Senior Vice President, Publicity at Atlantic Records where she spearheaded media campaigns for a diverse roster of award-winning global superstars including Bruno Mars, Janelle MonĂ¡e and Missy Elliot.

Prior to her tenure at Atlantic, Donatto was Director of Media & Artist Relations at Island Def Jam Records, where she developed media strategies for a multitude of the label’s top recording artists, soundtracks and compilations.

Donatto began her career in magazine publishing as Manager of Publicity for Vibe and Spin magazines.

She will be based in Interscope Geffen A&M headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.
