SoundCloud names Gilles BianRosa Chief Product Officer | Music Business Worldwide

SoundCloud has appointed Gilles BianRosa (pictured) as its new Chief Product Officer.

BianRosa will be responsible for leading SoundCloud’s product management and design teams in addition to setting the “product vision and strategy” that supports SoundCloud’s “two-sided ecosystem of creators and listeners”.

Based in the company’s Berlin HQ, BianRosa will report to SoundCloud’s Chief Executive Officer, Kerry Trainor.

Before joining SoundCloud, BianRosa was the Chief Product Officer for Samsung’s Visual Display Content & Services, where he oversaw the product portfolio for Samsung Smart TVs as well as innovations for the connected home.

He spearheaded products such as The Frame TV and Samsung’s AI-powered voice-assistant for content discovery and home automation.

Prior to Samsung, BianRosa was at TiVo, which acquired the company he co-founded, Fan TV, in 2014.

Before founding Fan TV, Gilles was the Chief Executive Officer at Vuze, the largest open-source BitTorrent application, and began his career in Silicon Valley at McKinsey & Company.
