Respected Touring Trade Amplify Shifts To Billboard | hypebot

image from www.ampthemag.comDave Brooks led touring industry trade Amplify will be integrated into Respected veteran journalist Brooks joined Billboard in 2017; and last year Valence Media acquired Amplify, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of Billboard.

While long expected, the consolidation comes as Billboard ramps up its live music and touring trade coverage to compete with Pollstar and CelebrityAccess. 

"It’s a bittersweet moment for me — my wife Kristen and I launched Amplify Media in 2014 and I’m sad to see the Amplify Media brand sunset,"" writes Brooks, "but I’m excited about the collaboration we’ll soon be rolling out with MRC Media, which owns Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, Spin, Vibe and Stereogum."

In the coming weeks, Amplify will stop posting content and move all their work to Amplify memberships will be converted to Billboard memberships with more details to be shared soon.
