Cooking Vinyl makes string of new signings, including Swim Deep and Saint Raymond | Music Business Worldwide

UK-based independent label Cooking Vinyl has made a raft of new signings including indie stars Swim Deep, who have signed for a worldwide artist services deal.

Also joining Cooking Vinyl for a worldwide artist services deal is Isobel Campbell, while Mercury Award nominee Sam Lee and Americana-inspired pop star Kerri Watt both join for worldwide royalty deals.

Finally, Saint Raymond (pictured with Cooking Vinyl MD Rob Collins) joins the label for a worldwide artist services deal ahead of the launch of hissecond album. The singer-songwriter has played support slots throughout the UK and Europe with HAIM and Ed Sheeran, as well as his own solo tour of the UK at the end of 2018.

Isobel Campbell was a member of Belle & Sebastian where she played percussion, cello and sang, as well as co-writing their Top 20 track Legal Man.

Following her departure, she released several albums with Screaming Trees’ Mark Lanegan alongside collaborations with The Jesus & Mary Chain, joining them for their sold out shows at LA’s Hollywood Palladium in December 2018.

Swim Deep are preparing to launch their third full length LP with a few summer appearances lined up including Live at Leeds and Dot To Dot Festivals.

Sam Lee is working on new material following a recent partnership with wildlife charity the RSPB, alongside Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien, to raise awareness for declining bird species.

Meanwhile, Kerri Watt, who also sign to Cooking Vinyl Publishing, has had support from BBC Radio 2 and recently joined Keith Urban on stage as a special guest for his March shows in London.

Swim Deep said: “We’re really excited to be working with the great people at Cooking Vinyl.

“We can’t wait to release our third album which we’ve worked so hard on.”

Campbell said: “I am very much looking forward to releasing my new record with Cooking Vinyl and working with the innovative team there. As a fiercely independent artist signing with them felt like the right thing to do.”

“This is just the start of a very active year for Cooking Vinyl and I’d like to thank the A&R team – Ollie Slaney and Stephen Budd – for all of their hard work.”
