Patreon Says 3M Patrons Are Paying Creators $500M A Year On The Platform | hypebot

PatreonlogoPatreon has announced that there are now more than 3 million patrons supporting more than 100,000 musicians and other creators. The fan patronage platform is on track to pay creators half a billion in 2019 alone.

In the last year, the number of patrons around the globe increased from 2 million to 3 million.

This year,  Patreon will also pass  pass $1 billion paid to cretors paid to creators since launching in 2013.  To date, Patreon has raised $105.9 million in funding over 4 rounds. Their latest round as in  September of 2017 as a Series C.

"This incredible achievement not only shows the importance of our mission to fund the creative class, but that it's affecting real people - both creators and patrons, Patreon team wrote in a blog post to creators. "Patrons are supporting creators and enabling them to build sustainable businesses that reinforce the art and the value they bring to this world. It's amazing, and it still feels like we're just getting started."
