Vevo’s Artists To Watch 2019: Astrid S, Matt Hunter, Greeicy, AJ Mitchell | Music Business Worldwide

MBW is putting the spotlight on the 20 Artists To Watch for 2019, as selected by Vevo.

On Tuesday, November 27 we introduced you to Slowthai, Kelvyn Colt and YBN Crew and on November 29 we featured Amber Mark, Nebu Kiniza and Angele.

And on Monday (December 3) we were treated to live performances by Elley Duhé, Robinson, Hex and Lauren Sanderson.

Here are four more windows to open in Vevo’s ATW advent calendar…

Astrid S (pictured Main)

Label: Virgin/Island

Management: Modest!

Carl Young, Senior Manager, Music & Talent, says: “Astrid S is leading the next wave with her raw, powerful vocal talent.

“We’re expecting greatness from her next year if her two ATW performances “Emotion” and “Closer” are anything to go by.”

Matt Hunter

Label: UML

Management: Lionfish

“We expect big things in 2019 from Matt Hunter – he’s definitely laid the groundwork over the last couple years, but the music he’s making now sounds like it could propel him to become one of the most exciting young voices in Latin Pop,” says David McTiernan, Director of Music & Talent.

Label: UMLE

Management: Caroline Garcia

David McTiernan, Director of Music & Talent, says: “Greeicy has been perfecting her craft working across music and film and we’ve definitely taken notice – already a superstar in her home country of Colombia, she is truly on the verge of becoming a global superstar.

“We’re excited to share her ATW performances and are looking forward to what 2019 will bring.”

AJ Mitchell

Label: Epic

Management: Mike Spitz

“AJ Mitchell is set for big things. To be so young and already have such a strong sense of his musical identity made him a standout pick for our list,” says David McTiernan, Director of Music & Talent.

“His fanbase is already into the millions, and I’m really excited to see how these reimagined performances help grow that even more and take him to the next level.”
