Sentric Electronic launches to service ‘thousands of producers without music publishing’ | Music Business Worldwide

Sentric Music has combined with Black Rock Publishing to launch Sentric Electronic – a dedicated electronic music publishing service catering for ‘the millions of tracks in the genre that remain unpublished’.

Like Sentric Music’s original model, Sentric Electronic’s core offering is a 28-day deal that will see the company collect performance, mechanical and neighbouring rights revenue from around the world, with clients retaining 100% of their copyrights.

It also provides a synchronisation and licensing team working across TV, film, advertising, video games, promotional videos and other brand partnerships.

Artists already signed to the Sentric Electronic service include Albzzy, Alice Clark, Enzo Siffredi, Jansons, Killed Kassette, Melinki , Lord of The Isles, Mark Jenkyns , Mizbee, Scarlett Quinn, Thomas Gandey, Rhythm Staircase and Tigerlight.

Sentric announced that it had acquired a stake in Black Rock in August this year, and that Black Rock would continue to operate as a brand within Sentric.

Co-founded by former AFEM CEO Mark Lawrence (pictured), Black Rock Publishing has provided artist publishing, neighbouring rights representation and record label rights management services for artists and companies working in the electronic music genre since 2013.

Meanwhile, founded in 2006, Sentric Music today represents more than a million works, with offices in London, Hamburg, Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles alongside its Liverpool HQ.

“With Sentric’s platform and infrastructure, and black rock’s reputation and expertise in the genre, this is a really unique opportunity”

Mark Lawrence said: “Millions of tracks in the electronic genre remain unpublished since release. With Sentric’s platform and infrastructure, and Black Rock’s reputation and expertise in the genre, this is a really unique opportunity for electronic music creators everywhere. Now, anyone looking for a publishing deal can sign up online in minutes and begin registering tracks and collecting royalties.”

Sentric Music CEO Chris Meehan said: “Since day one, Sentric Music has been about making music publishing fairer, easier and clearer. Over the course of our history, we’ve helped thousands of songwriters recover the revenue they deserve and earn significant extra income to enhance their careers and their music. We’re really excited about continuing that mission with a tailor-made service for the electronic music genre.”Music Business Worldwide
