DJ Semtex joins UK’s Capital XTRA after 15 years at BBC | Music Business Worldwide

Award-winning British DJ, broadcaster and author DJ Semtex (pictured) is joining the Global-owned UK radio station Capital XTRA to host a brand new Friday night hip-hop show.

The DJ recently left BBC Radio 1 after 15 years, where he hosted the 1Xtra hip-hop show.

Semtex has played a key role in breaking some of the biggest hip-hop acts on both sides of the Atlantic.

He’s also the host of the popular UK-focused Spotify podcast, Who We Be.

“It’s an honour to be at Capital XTRA.”

DJ Semtex said: “It’s an honour to be at Capital XTRA. I think what they’ve been doing is amazing, it typifies the UK experience.

“It’s great to be working alongside some good friends, some legendary DJs and some of the sickest emerging DJs.

“I just want to get down, do my thing, and make some of the best radio moments possible.”

Yesterday, MBW broke the news that BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra presenter Charlie Sloth was leaving the broadcaster after 10 years to join Apple’s Beats 1.Music Business Worldwide
