Beggars Music promotes Amy Morgan to Managing Director | Music Business Worldwide


UK-based publisher Beggars Music has promoted Amy Morgan to Managing Director.

Morgan has been working at the company since its inception seven ago where, as Creative Director, she led the creative side of the business.

She has also overseen the signing and development of talents such as Sampha, Mica Levi and the act she manages, Glass Animals.

Founder Andy Heath remains the company’s Chairman, alongside senior roles at the Beggars Group, State 51, OCL and UK Music.

He said: “It’s a privilege to hand over the reins to Amy.

“She is one of the most extraordinary executives I have ever worked with and she completely embraces the spirit of Beggars, which is to develop and expose the finest talent, being prepared for a long-term effort and putting the interests of the music maker first.”

Morgan started her career in the music business in A&R at Zomba (now Imagem Music) and V2 Records before joining Cooperative Music as International Product Manager.

She joined Beggars as Creative Manager before being promoted to Creative Director.

Discussing her promotion, Morgan said: “The role of the publisher has never been so exciting.

Additionally, Beggars Music has bolstered its Los Angeles team with Sam Carlin, who moves from MTV to become Head of Film & TV licensing.

Elsewhere, Will Moore has joined from Ninja Tune as Copyright & Licensing manager and will be based in Beggars’ London office.
