BandLab Technologies has acquired some assets and the complete intellectual property of Cakewalk Inc. from Gibson Brands. Gibson has recently been shedding subsidiaries and brands in an effort to avoid bankruptcy.
Cakewalk has been a leading developer professional grade audio production software for the last 30 years. Upstart Bandlab's offering is centered around a cloud based digital audio workstation.

The deal includes only the transfer of Cakewalk Inc.’s assets and intellectual property. No other details of the deal have been released.
