The Damned sign to Search and Destroy ahead of eleventh album | Music Business Worldwide

Legendary British punk band The Damned have signed to Search and Destroy ahead of the release of their eleventh album, and first in nearly a decade.

Search and Destroy exists as a joint venture between Spinefarm Records and Universal.

It’s owned by the band’s management company, Raw Power.

The upcoming album will be recorded this summer and is the follow up to 2008’s So, Who’s Paranoid?

Manager Jamal Chalabi and Raw Power Management’s Commercial Director Don Jenkins were instrumental in brokering the new agreement.

Formed in 1976, The Damned broke ground as the first UK punk act to tour America.

They recently celebrated four decades together with deluxe reissues package and a world tour.

“There was so much enthusiasm from the guys at Search and Destroy for working with The Damned that we had no hesitation in signing to the label.”

Craig Jennings, founder and CEO of Raw Power Management added: “The Damned are one of my all-time favourite bands and a massive influence on my own musical worldview.

“The band’s impact on subsequent generations of bands cannot be underestimated and we are looking forward to releasing their first new album for almost a decade.”
