Rostrum Records promotes Nicole Plantin to VP, A&R | Music Business Worldwide


Rostrum Records has named Nicole Plantin as Vice President, A&R.

Plantin has spent nearly three years at Rostrum as Senior Director, Management and A&R.

She steps up after recently A&Ring Vali’s current single ‘Aint No Friend of Mine,’ and Mod Sun’s album Movie, which debuted at #3 on iTunes Hip Hop Chart.

Her most recent signing is Atlanta rapper Caleb Brown, who will release his debut album All Dawgs Go to Heaven 2 via Rostrum and his own label Do L.I.F.E. Records.

Previously, Plantin spent nine years at BMI where she was Director, Writer Publisher Relations in Los Angeles.

While there, she signed talent such as Jhene Aiko, Internet, Schoolboy Q, Odd Future, Dreezy and Joey Bada$$.

Plantin started her career with The Neptunes at their label Star Trak and worked with artists including Clipse, Kelis, NERD and Fam-Lay.

Over the past year, Rostrum, which is known for discovering Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, has released music from new signings such as Mike Taylor and BRĂ…VES. 

Taylor’s single ‘Body High’ hit #6 on Billboard’s Dance Club chart, and he’s the featured singer on AfroJack’s smash ‘Summerthing,’ which received a 2016 MTV Video Music Award nomination.

The label has recently built a full-service recording studio in the Rostrum Records building in Hollywood, CA, agreed a distribution deal with Caroline, and acquired the Cantora Records catalogue.

The deal brings with it recordings by MGMT, Bear Hands and Francis and the Lights.
