Reach Music acquires publishing catalog of writer/producer Young Fyre | Music Business Worldwide

New York-born Reach Music Publishing has acquired the publishing catalog and worldwide administration rights of writer/producer Young Fyre (Tremaine Winfrey).

The acquisition, which covers Young Fyre works commercially released from 2008 through 2020, includes 135 songs recorded by artists in the hip-hop, Latin and pop genres such as Marc Anthony, Bad Bunny, Trinidad James, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, T-Pain, Britney Spears and Lil Wayne.

Young Fyre was originally signed to rapper T-Pain’s publishing company, Nappy Boy Music, in partnership with Chase Music Publishing; and Reach Music was brought in as the worldwide publishing administrator.

Although the administration deal with Young Fyre ran year-to-year, Reach continued to represent the catalog for almost a decade, witnessing the consistent success and growth of the catalog.

Reach was offered the opportunity to acquire the full publisher and partial writer’s share of the Young Fyre catalog over the summer, which it did, and closed on the acquisition at the top of September.

New York-born Reach Music Publishing, an independent today headquartered in Burbank California, was founded by Michael Closter.

Reach, and its affiliate Reach Global, administers and publishes popular songwriters and catalogs across all genres, including those of John Mayer, Common, Zac Brown, Ice-T, The Knack, Lisa Loeb, Sierra Hull, Public Enemy, Chuck D, Danzig, Romanthony and Lindsey Stirling.

“We’re thrilled to have been given this opportunity to acquire the catalog and deepen our business with him.”
