Germany’s Budde Music inks JV with UK publisher Karma Songs | Music Business Worldwide

German publisher Budde Music has inked a joint venture deal with Karma Songs, the publishing arm of UK-based writer/producer management company Karma Artists Management.

The new agreement, effective immediately, covers all future copyrights plus administration of the Karma Songs catalog – which includes works recorded by Andrea Bocelli, Diana Ross, Bananarama, and the 90’s Top 3 hit Escaping by Dina Carroll.

The first signing to the new JV is singer/songwriter Nick Bradley who is managed by Sound Collective.

Karma Artists Management was formed by partners Jordan Jay and Ross Gautreau in 2012.

The company’s roster of writers and producers – including Charlie Puth, One Republic, Zedd, David Guetta, Mabel, Tom Walker, Green Day, Alesso, Take That, Craig David, The Vamps, James Arthur, Little Mix, Olly Murs, The Script, Jason Derulo, Sigala, Lukas Graham, Katy Perry – have produced over 10 UK No.1 albums

Over the past three years, Karma Songs has had successes with the likes of Lo Malo by Aitana and Ana Guerra (which is now a 6x Platinum hit in Spain and a No.1 airplay record), The Official Cricket World Cup Single Standby by Loren & Rudimental, as well as songs with artists such as Tom Misch, Martin Solveig and The Vamps with their UK No.1 album Night & Day.

Budde Music is a family owned publisher founded in Berlin in 1947. The company currently has offices in Berlin, Paris, London and LA and has in the last decade expanded into management and booking via Budde Talent Agency.

Recent Budde Music successes have included co-writes on Jack Harlow What’s Poppin’ and S1mba Rover (No.3 UK) and Ava Max Kings and Queens (No.1 German radio).

Direct signings for 2020 have included Jafaris, Lei Jennings, Conor Byrne, Nemo Achida, King Michael Coy and Asdis.
