T-Mobile US launches three-month Tidal trial for customers | Music Ally

Telco bundles can help drive up subscriber numbers when certain networks buddy up with particular DSPs. It is no surprise that T-Mobile US users are being offered three months of Tidal for free given that Tidal has a long-standing relationship with Sprint (notably a $200m investment for a 33% stake in the music service), with Sprint and T-Mobile merging in the US last month.

As part of the Tidal/T-Mobile promotion, those signing up will get access to a series of artist-curated playlists from acts like Jay-Z, H.E.R., Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Kelly Rowland, Lil Uzi Vert, Tinashe and Sech.

The telco/DSP bundle is rarely headline news but it is a quietly important part of helping bump up total streaming service subscriber numbers globally in 2019 to 341m according to recent IFPI figures.
