Kenny Chesney signs with UMPG for exclusive global publishing deal | Music Business Worldwide


Country music singer/songwriter/producer Kenny Chesney has signed an exclusive global publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG).

With more than 30 million in album sales worldwide, Chesney has 20 recorded albums, nine of which debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top 100.

The eight-time Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year also holds the record for most No.1s on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts with 30 chart-toppers.

His hits include American Kids, Get Along, Anything But Mine, You and Tequila, Boys of Fall and I Go Back, among many others.

In addition, Here And Now debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 – marking Chesney’s ninth No.1 album on the chart.

One of the most awarded artists in modern country music, Chesney has won four consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Awards and Male Vocalist of the Year and nine Country Music Association Awards, including four Entertainer of the Year Awards and Album of The Year for the quadruple platinum When The Sun Goes Down.

He was also the recipient of BMI’s President’s Award in 2016, recognizing his impact on the entertainment industry.
