EDC Las Vegas 2020Originally scheduled to take place May 15-17, and will now be held Oct. 2-4 at the same venue, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with Camp EDC starting off Oct. 1.
The announcement from Insomniac came today with a message from company CEO Pasquale Rotella: “You, the Headliners, are the heart and soul of EDC. Without you Insomniac wouldn’t exist. Thank you for being patient and supporting us while we’ve worked through this to make the best decision.”
“The team and I took every single factor into consideration: weather, hotel rates, talent availability, coordination with the Speedway and local officials, and most importantly, a date that would give us enough time for things to get back to normal so we can all come back stronger than ever.
In his statement Rotella made clear ”nothing changes but the date” implying that the lineup will largely remain intact. The bill for the previous date was to include Alesso, Alison Wonderland, David Guetta, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, and Tiësto.
Still, the chosen date is already making waves, as Relentless Beats has announced it will be forced to postpone Phoenix Lights as many of its patrons are planning on attending EDC.
“We don’t want to put anyone in the position of choosing between EDC and Phoenix Lights. It seems only right given the circumstances that we ALL gather once again under the electric sky to celebrate this October.”
Tickets to Phoenix Lights will be honored at a rescheduled date or for another Relentless Beats event, Decadence Arizona 2020.
Pasquale Rotella was
named to Pollstar’s inaugural Impact 50 list last year, and said he is constantly learning from electronic music fans and artists on how to better do his job: “This community is very vocal and they aren’t afraid to speak their minds when there’s something wrong.”
“I learn the most from them, and I still learn from them today.”
