AIM Sync conference to go virtual for its 30 March event | Music Ally

UK indie body AIM was due to hold its annual AIM Sync conference on 30 March, but for understandable reasons, it’s not going ahead as a physical event. However, it will still happen digitally: “a live and interactive virtual conference” thanks to a partnership with digital agency level8.

People who’d bought tickets to the planned conference are all getting refunds, and the virtual AIM Sync will be entirely free for those people, as well as members of AIM and the Guild of Music Supervisors.

Expect panel discussions, interactive workshops, listening sessions and even speed networking, all online. This may be a useful glimpse at the near future for a lot of industry conferences, given the uncertainty around how long stay-at-home restrictions imposed to tackle the coronavirus pandemic will last.

Midem organiser Reed Midem has already announced that its real-estate conference MIPIM, which had already been shifted to ‘co-locate’ with Midem in Cannes this June, is now going to be an “online experience” instead. There’s no announcement yet about Midem.
