Poo Bear inks global publishing deal with peermusic | Music Business Worldwide


peermusic has signed hit songwriter and producer Jason Boyd, aka Poo Bear to a worldwide publishing deal.

The songwriter is behind the likes of Usher’s Caught Up; Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy (Remix); Chris Brown’s I Can Transform Ya and Justin Bieber’s Despacito (Remix).

A multi-platinum songwriter/producer with over 500 million records sold worldwide, Poo Bear’s deal with peermusic will begin at the point of conclusion of his deal with BMG.

The deal was announced today (February 11) by Ralph Peer, Chair and Chief Executive Officer; Mary Megan Peer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Kathy Spanberger, President & COO; and Tuff Morgan, Vice President, A&R.

Poo Bear’s latest credits include executive producing Justin Bieber’s forthcoming album Changes (set for release on February 14 via Def Jam/Universal) as well as co-writing on every song, including the first two singles Yummy and Get Me.

One of the most successful and influential songwriter/producers of his generation, Poo Bear has crafted hits for some of the biggest artists in popular music.

During his frequent collaborations with Justin Bieber he’s contributed to songs including Despacito (Remix), Where Are Ü Now, What Do You Mean?, PYD, Hold Tight, and All That Matters.

Other hits Poo Bear has written or produced include “Caught Up” by Usher; “Anywhere” and “Peaches and Cream” by 112; “I Can Transform Ya” by Chris Brown; “I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran; “Bad Guy (Remix)” by Billie Eilish; and “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay, among many others.
