Vivendi's Radionomy To End US Streaming This Week | hypebot

Radionomy, which allowed users to create online radio stations, will shut down U.S. streaming at the end of this week.The announcement offered to migrate stations to Shoutcast for Business.

U.S. music licensing rates set by the Copyright Royalty Board made streaming to U.S. listeners unsustainable for the company, according to RAIN.

Radionomy is 64% owned by Vivendi, which also owns Universal Music Group.  Shoutcast and Winamp are also Radionomy owned companies.
