Superprime has added writing and directing duo Hannah & Adriana to its roster for U.S. commercial representation. The pair, Hannah Levy and Adriana Robles, have written and directed comedic shorts for Comedy Central, Funny or Die and SNL. They joined SNL for its 44th season as the show’s first female directing team. Their first segment for the show, “A New Kyle,” aired during the season premiere and starred Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson. Recently, the duo directed “Fashion Coward” a skit with Emma Stone, Aidy Bryant, and Kate McKinnon shopping for clothes at a satirical store for people “who hate shopping and feel lost and scared."
Director Kiku Ohe has signed to Stink Films London. The Australian director’s recent work includes an ode to travel for Louis Vuitton and Johnnie Walker’s “12 Years” spot reflecting on 12 years of memories past. Other work includes a short film for outdoor brand Merrell. Last year he released his first feature film “The Lines.”
Arts & Sciences has added Australian director Fiona McGee to its roster. Her work includes “The Day After” for McDonald’s, “Runaway Tent” for Hyundai Tucson, and “Little Henry” for beer brand Speights. In Australia, for four years she’s helmed ING’s brand ambassador parody starring Isla Fisher and her work for home improvement brand Selleys won a Bronze Lion at Cannes.
Psyop has added animation studio Sun Creature to its Blacklist roster. Launched five years ago on a Kickstarter for one of their first original entertainment properties “The Reward: Tales of Alethrion,” Sun Creature has also directed commercial campaigns for brands like Riot Games, Coca-Cola and Travel Oregon.
Honor Society has signed photographer and director Anna Wolf for U.S. commercial representation. Wolf has shot for Target and Amazon and directed campaigns for brands including Levi’s, Microsoft, Keds, LeSportsac, Verizon and Fossil, among others. She has also shot for editorial clients such as Marie Claire, Glamour and The Zoe Report. She is currently wrapping up projects for Keds, Smartwater, Sally Hansen, and a collaboration with Amazon and Bustle.
Hasraf Dulull has signed to 1stAveMachine and The Gotham Group for director representation in all areas. Dulull is known for his sci-fi indie feature film “The Beyond” which premiered at #2 on the iTunes charts before trending on Netflix. His second feature film “2036: Origin Unknown,” earned a theatrical release in the US. He began his career as a VFX artist on films such as “The Dark Knight” and “Hellboy 2.”
Framestore has hired post-production specialist David Michaels to join the company’s Chicago office as director of production and business development. With a decade of global VFX and post-production experience, Michaels joins Framestore after five years at Smoke & Mirrors where he was an executive producer, initially in the company’s New York studio and then in Amsterdam. Before that, he held positions at post-production company Quietman.
Whitehouse Post has promoted Sam Perkins to editor. Perkins began his editorial career at Whitehouse in 2012 as a runner, working his way up to assistant editor a few years later. He has worked on projects for brands including Google , Coke, Target, Infiniti and LinkedIn.
MPC has added Duncan Russell to its London studio as senior colorist. His experience includes stints at Glassworks, VTR, Prime Focus, Smoke and Mirrors and most recently as head of grading at Freefolk. His work includes grades for the Suzuki Dodgems spot directed by Noah Harris and last year’s embroidered tapestry animation for the BBC World Cup.
Arcade Edit has added Josh Hegard to its roster. Hegard honed his skills while working as a freelance editor, crafting numerous music videos and commercials, in addition to working on scripted TV and films for Sony, Lifetime, MTV and others. His commercial work includes advertisements for Nike, Boost Mobile, Perrier, NFL, MLB, Oscar Mayer, Lowes and Longchamp, as well as a recent spot for Adidas starring Willow Smith.
Audio company Human, which has offices in New York, Los Angeles and Paris, is opening in Chicago with a new West Loop studio and office under the leadership of composer/producer Justin Hori. Hori began his career at com/track and Comma Music, before moving to open Comma’s Los Angeles office. From there, Hori joined Squeak E Clean, where he served as creative director for the past five years. His production work includes the track “Da Diddy Da,” which was used in the summer 2018 Apple iPad campaign.
Chicago sound design studio Another Country has added Jordan Stalling as a sound designer and mix engineer to their staff. Stalling has spent the previous six years with Comma Music. Recent credits include campaigns for the Chicago Bulls, Cracker Barrel, Keystone Light and WeatherTech, while Stalling's original sound designs and mixes also feature in Potluck Creative's "Super Hero" series of stop-motion videos for Revolution Brewing.
Cut+Run London has promoted assistant editor Meg Thorne to editor. Thorne joined the Soho edit house as an assistant in 2015 from post-production studio The Farm and has collaborated regularly with director and choreographer Holly Blakey, editing a number of dance-led projects for brands including Swoon and Christie’s.
