Eventbrite President Andrew Dreskin Steps Down | hypebot

image from celebrityaccess.comEventbrite President Andrew Dreskin is exiting his leadership role at the independent ticketer. “After more than a decade at Ticketfly, two acquisitions, and all told almost 20 years running ticketing companies, it feels like the right time for me to transition into a different role,” Dreskin told Billboard’s Dave Brooks, who first reported his exit.

In a statement to CelebrityAccess, a spokesperson for Eventbrite said Dreskin plans to transition into an advisory role at the company as part of a new, multi-year agreement, effective June 7th. Dreskin also plans to step down from his role on the company’s Board of Directors. Eventbrite_wordmark_orange“We’re grateful for Andrew’s dedication to leading Eventbrite’s music division since Ticketfly and Eventbrite came together nearly two years ago, culminating in the release of the Eventbrite Music platform late last year,” said Julia Hartz, co-founder, and CEO of Eventbrite in a statement provided to CelebrityAccess. “Today’s news does not change our fervent commitment to the independent live music community both in North America and globally, and our clients and the team that serves them remain our highest priority.”

Dreskin joined Eventbrite in 2017 after it acquired Ticketfly, the ticketing company he founded in 2008. Dreskin also co-founded and led the Ticketweb, which was acquired by Ticketmaster in 2000.

Dreskin also served as co-founder and producer of the Virgin Mobile Festival, General Manager of Beserkley Records, Director of Marketing at California Concerts, and a co-owner in the Big Easy chain of concert venues, before it was acquired by Knitting Factory Entertainment.
