Redbubble, a global online marketplace for print-on-demand products, is being condemned by the Auschwitz Memorial Museum in Poland for selling products on its site that feature images of the concentration camp.
Some of the products listed includes an Auschwitz Birkenau Railway Lines travel mug, an Auschwitz concentration camp graphic T-shirt and throw pillow, a "Chimney mini skirt,” and a “Last Walk tote bag.” As of Tuesday at 4 pm E.T., searching for "Auschwitz" on Redbubble brings up 237 results.
Auschwitz Memorial Museum called the product sales disturbing and disrespectful in a tweet. Redbubble’s support account, @RedbubbleHelp, issued a response:
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The nature of this content is not acceptable and is not in line with our Community Guidelines (https://rdbl.co/2N5EEC2 ). We are taking immediate action to remove these and similar works available on these product types.
“Redbubble is the host of an online marketplace where independent users take responsibility for the images they upload. We have onsite reporting functions in place and are grateful to be made aware of these concerns."
People on Twitter expressed their disgust at the site.
