Mustafa Mazouzi joins Golden, Eskimo signs Nico Kreis | Advertising Age

Golden L.A. has signed Paris-based director Mustafa Mazouzi to its roster for his first U.S. representation. Mazouzi debuted on the commercial scene in 2016 with “Adidas Boost,” which was selected for the Young Director Awards at Cannes. Since then, he has directed for brands including Nike, GMF and Société Générale, with Adidas coming back to him repeatedly. Outside of the U.S he is represented by Big Productions in Paris, in Spain by The Production Club, in the U.K. by Outsider, and for work in Eastern Europe and Asia, he works with German-based View-Finder. His debut short film “The Corner” was named an official selection of The Palm Springs Film Festival, and was followed by his second short “I Need Shine,” which screened at Sundance.

Los Angeles production company Eskimo has signed Berlin-based director Nico Kreis for U.S. commercial representation. His work includes campaigns for brands including Mercedes, Samsung, Nissan, Toyota, Pilsner and others. Most recently, he directed the global release campaign for the Porsche 911. Past awards include a Young Directors Award at Cannes Lions, AICP Awards and an Art Directors Club award in Germany.

Brooklyn-based production company Voyager is setting up on the West Coast, establishing an office in Playa Vista to be headed  by managing partner David Brickel. Executive producer Andrew Hutcheson will continue to lead the Brooklyn office and will be joined by Alissa Feldbau as head of production. Feldbau joins Voyager from Arnold, where she worked over the past seven years as a broadcast producer. Voyager has recently worked for brands such as 1800 Tequila, Facebook and Champion and has collaborated with agencies Deutsch, R/GA and BBDO.

Tinygiant has added Raphaël Ouellet and Andrew Schneider to its director roster for commercial representation in the U.S. Montreal-based Ouellet is a director of short films and commercials whose clients include Air Canada, Parks Canada and Penningtons. Schneider specializes in automotive productions and has worked with the likes of Acura, Toyota, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW.

AICP has announced the winners of the Lev Awards, the prizes in its annual Camp Kuleshov genre-swapping competition for assistants. The top winner in the Editing category was George Irizarry of Cosmo Street in New York, who turned “Bicycle Thieves,” Vittorio De Sica’s 1948 neo-realist drama set in post-war Italy, into a frightening sci-fi film. The Lev in Sound Design goes to Tom Morris of Heard City in New York for his sound design segment of Ken Russell’s nightmarish 1980s thriller “Altered States,” which he turned into a vacation ad for “Brimstone Resorts.” The Graphic Design Lev winner was presented to Andrew Becker of Flavor in Los Angeles for his title design for Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2007 drama “There Will Be Blood” which depicts drops of blood-like oil coating pages of the Bible as a visual metaphor.
