Maciej Kutak appointed as Managing Director, Universal Music Poland | Music Business Worldwide

Universal Music Central Europe has appointed Maciej Kutak (pictured) as Managing Director, Universal Music Poland (UMP), effective May 1, 2019.

Kutak joins UMP from Sony Music, where he held the position of Managing Director, Eastern Europe since 2014 and was responsible for company operations in 10 countries across Eastern Europe.

He will be based in Warsaw and report to Frank Briegmann, President & CEO Central Europe Universal Music and Deutsche Grammophon.

Prior to Sony Music, Kutak worked for Viacom International as Vice-President, Commercial CEE1.

Kutak started his career in the publishing industry with roles at Axel Springer and Bauer Media Poland before joining Viacom in 2010.

He takes over responsibilities from Jan Kubicki, who recently stepped-down in order to focus on his own projects including Magic Records, a joint-venture label in partnership with UMP.
