Scooter Braun-led Ithaca Holdings acquires and partners with Richard Stumpf’s Atlas Music Publishing | Music Business Worldwide

Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings has had a busy week.

We found out on Tuesday (February 5) that Zach Katz has teamed up with Ithaca Holdings to launch Raised In Space Enterprises, and today (February 7) it has been announced that Ithaca has acquired and partnered with New York-based Atlas Music Publishing.

Atlas, founded by CEO and Partner Richard Stumpf in 2013, is home to songs by artists including Ed Sheeran, Drake, Nicki Minaj, John Legend and others.

The company also administers the catalog of Van Halen, for which Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Atlas in 2015.

Atlas will continue to do business out of its established New York, Los Angeles and Nashville offices.

According to the press release, the ‘acquisition expands Ithaca’s publishing platform by partnering with some of the most talented executives and creatives in the space’.

In January last year it was announced that Mushroom Music Publishing had struck a deal to sub-publish Atlas Music Publishing for Australia and New Zealand.

The move sees Atlas founder and CEO Richard Stumpf back in business with Mushroom, having previously worked together while he was heading up creative at Cherry Lane.

“Richard has built an incredible publishing business with Atlas and we are excited to bring him and his team into the family.”
