Five music startup trends you should follow in 2019. | Water & Music

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day, regardless of how you define love and with whom you decide to share it.

Before we dive into today's essay, I wanted to share the exciting news that we are nearing the $700/month mark on my Patreon page!

That means I will be able to launch a podcast by the end of this month, and that this newsletter is now 100% member-funded and member-voted. Yes, you read that right—anyone who contributes just $3/month to the page will be able to vote on all future Water & Music essay topics.

This has grown beyond my wildest expectations, and I'm so grateful to everyone who has shown their support so far. A special thank-you to everyone who joined the $40 tier this month, including Wendy Day, George Goodrich, David Lowry, Michael Boyle, Lars Ettrup, Jiong You, Bing Lu, C.Y. Lee and the Pan Family.

I've already shared an exclusive recap of the latest NY MusicTech Meetup (where I was a guest speaker) on my Patreon page, and will be launching a member-exclusive essay series next week. Please feel free to reply directly to this email with any questions you may have about the various tiers and benefits, and/or to give general feedback on this newsletter. Thanks so much again :)
