Sony, Syco & 4th Floor Creative develop Little Mix Amazon Alexa skill | Music Business Worldwide

Sony Music UK and Syco Music have launched an innovative new Amazon Alexa fan experience to coincide with the release of Little Mix’s new album, LM5.

The Alexa ‘Little Mix Triple A skill’ was developed as a collaboration between Sony Music UK’s Commercial Sales Team and 4th Floor Creative, in partnership with Syco and was fully recorded in the 4th Floor Recording Studio.

The skill allows fans to virtually join Little Mix in the recording studio or backstage.

The backstage and studio content will be updated weekly with updates from the band in the run up to the album release on November 16 and beyond.

Fans will also have the opportunity each week to take part in the Little Mix Quiz, with the questions personally delivered by the group.

“We’re excited about how we can use skills as a route to deeper fan connection in the future.”

Adam Cardew, Digital Director

Adam Cardew Digital Director, 4th Floor Creative said: “Given that Little Mix are already one of the most popular artist requests on Alexa devices and there are so many creative stories to tell behind the band’s new album, delivering those stories to fans through an Alexa skill made total sense.

“This is a great example of us embracing voice technology to offer audiences creative ways to engage with their favourite artists around a new release.
