Kirit Joshi upped to Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer at Sony | Music Business Worldwide

Kirit Joshi has been promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Sony Music Entertainment.

In this role, Joshi will oversee SME’s worldwide Information Security and Technology (IS&T) operations, including the global applications and infrastructure organizations, application security compliance, as well as the regional IS&T organizations.

Based in New York, Joshi will report to Carmine Coppola, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Sony Music Entertainment.

He will also work closely with the entire Sony Music Entertainment executive team, including Kevin Kelleher, Chief Operating Officer, and Dennis Kooker, President, Global Digital Business and US Sales.

Joshi has served in various roles in the IS&T group over the course of his 25 year career with the company.

Most recently, he served as Senior VP of Worldwide IS&T, where he was responsible for implementing global standard IT systems around the world, including the Artist Portal, Artist 360, STARS Global Revenue Processing, Royalties, Digital Delivery, Content Management, Rights Management and Worldwide Sales & Marketing systems.

He began his career with the company in 1993 in the International Group and has worked extensively in Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining the music industry, Joshi worked in the finance industry on building the first machine learning based stock trading systems, and in the defense industry to build de-centralized secure open systems platforms.
