CNCO, Daddy Yankees Top Latin American Music Awards 2018 | hypebot

image from celebrityaccess.comCNCO, Ozuna and Daddy Yankee were the big winners at the Latin American Music Awards 2018 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood last night. CNCO took home Favorite Duo or Group, Favorite Artist – Pop and Favorite Artist – Pop for CNCO. Ozuna won Favorite Artists – Urban, Album of the Year and Favorite Album – Urban for Odisea. Daddy Yankee won Favorite Male Artist and was honored with the ICON award, according to UPI.

Christian Nodal won Favorite Artist and Favorite Album for the region of Mexico. Bad Bunny won Artist of the Year.

Gloria Trevi performed her song “Ella Soy Yo” after delivering a speech about the #MeToo movement.  “The man who abused me today is free,” she said, according to UPI. “I was 15 years old when I started living with beatings, abuse, deceit – 17 years of humiliation.”

Maluma was honored with the Extraordinary Evolution Award and Sebastian Yatra took home the New Artist of the Year award.

Brazilian artist Anitta opened the show with “Medicina,” which later won the Favorite Music Video award. Alvaro Soler, Flo Rida and Tini closed the ceremony with “La Cintura.”
