Aaron Bay-Schuck begins tenure as CEO of Warner Bros Records in Los Angeles | Music Business Worldwide

It’s been a lengthy wait – but Aaron Bay-Schuck has today (October 1) officially started as the new Co-Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Records.

Bay-Schuck forms the second half of a new-look management duo at WBR, alongside former RCA exec Tom Corson.

Their joint appointment was first announced in October last year.

Presumably for contractual reasons involving his former employer, it’s taken a full year for ex-Universal exec Bay-Shuck to land in WBR’s offices.

Tom Corson, the COO and Co-Chairman of Warner Bros, has been flying solo at WBR since January, and has enjoyed success this year with the likes of Lil Pump, Bebe Rexha and BlocBoy.

New music from the label is due out soon from Michael Bublé, Saweetie and more.

Bay-Schuck and Corson succeed Warner Bros’ former CEO & Chairman, Cameron Strang, who left the company at the end of 2017.

Aaron Bay-Schuck was previously President of A&R at Universal-owned Interscope Geffen A&M – where he worked with the likes of Imagine Dragons, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Lana Del Ray, Maroon 5, M.I.A, X Ambassadors, and Zedd.

Prior to IGA, Bay-Schuck spent 10 years with Atlantic Records, where he rose to Senior Vice President of A&R.

There, he signed Bruno Mars and worked with Flo Rida and Trey Songz.

“In keeping with WBR’s history as a beacon for creative pioneers, he’s one of those bright talents that both game-changing artists and gifted executives gravitate towards.”

Max Lousada, Warner Music Group

In an internal note to Warner staff today, obtained by MBW, WMG’s CEO of Recorded Music, Max Lousada, wrote: “Aaron is at the forefront of a new generation of leaders and has a true fan’s infectious love of music.

“In keeping with WBR’s history as a beacon for creative pioneers, he’s one of those bright talents that both game-changing artists and gifted executives gravitate towards. He brings ambitious vision and impeccable taste to our global team.”

Added Lousada: “I [want] to thank Tom for the fantastic job he’s been doing since coming on board nine months ago. With Aaron and Tom as Co-Chairs, WBR has entered a new era of reinvention, collaboration, and possibility.

“Tom and Aaron will make a dynamic partnership, complementing each other’s strengths, as they build the careers of diverse, influential artists.”

Warner Bros Records is set to move to a new HQ in Los Angeles’ Art District this year.

That switch will see WBR exit its long-held offices in Burbank, Los Angeles.Music Business Worldwide
